Mazza, Irma Goodrich. 1952July. Herbs for the Kitchen. Little, Brown and Company, Boston., p. 9

Borago officinalis Annual

I, Borage Braing alwaeis courage.

The ancients who spun this pretty couplet also thought the borage drunk in wine makes one jolly. Pour Bacchus!

Borage is one of the prettiest of the herbs. Strong and gray-green with flowers of heavenly blue, it is an addition to any garden. Then too, its tenderest, smallest tops and flowers are welcome in salads. Cool summer drinks are all the more refreshing if Borage, flowers and all, is sunk in them and steeped therein.
