Melissa officinalis Perennial

It was once the custom to wear Balm among the clothes to "make one beloved when met". Perhaps its charm still holds. A minty, perfumed dark green plant, it yields its scent to the slightest touch. Sprigs newly picked lend personality to salads, and peculiar charm to sea. Its traditional use as flavoring steeped in wine cups might well be revived today.
