| Gel or Foam Stability: Funnel Method | to Top |
| 1. | Support funnel either in ringstand, funnel rack or graduated cylinder [if appropriate]. |
| 2. | If solution or gel or foam is such that it would be broken up by the "funnel stem hole" place thin pieces of glass wool over stem. Do not use if not necessary. |
| 3. | Put graduated cylinder under funnel. Position so that tip of funnel does not touch cylinder wall. Cylinder should be as small as feasible [in the intrest of accurate readings] |
| 4. | Transfer sample to the funnel carefully so as not to disturb the glass wool. |
| 5. | Record volume of drip at time[s] specified in the experiment. |
