Emulsion Stability Test
| to Top |
Prepare emulsion and place a portion in a test tube. Let the test tube set for the number of minutes you decide the emulsion should be stable. Use a ruler to measure the centimeters of oil or water which have separated. If you have graduated test tubes this is convenient. A graduated test tube permits you to measure the amount in milliliters of separation. The stability may be expressed in centimeters of separation. The same amount of emulsion should be put in each tube when running comparisons.
