| Catalase | to Top |
| 1. | Break 2.5 gms of finely chopped sample in a test tube. |
| 2. | Place about 20 mL of distilled water in same test tube. |
| 3. | Soak 15 minutes. |
| 4. | Add 0.5 mL of 0.5% hydrogen peroxide [H2O2] solution. |
| 5. | Mix quickly by inverting tube. |
| 6. | If catalase is still active, a fairly vigorous evoluation of oxygen [O2] will ensue within a few minutes. |
