The references below are on a range of food-related references alphabetized by author. At that time, computerized reference databases were being developed. They generally contained references starting in 1970. At that time, with a generalized research program, there was a concern that the old literature would be ignored. An attempt was made to go through the primary "old" food-related journals and retrieve the article citations. These were placed on punch cards and computerized with a main-frame computer using the bibliographic program titled FAMULUS. As technology and computers changed, the files were eventually transferred from the mainframe program to a personal computer and eventually to the world wide web format. Additionally, during that time the developers research explored the quality [texture, color, and sensory quality] of a variety of foods grown in Oregon. Later, an interest in food and culture has been included. Those focuses and teaching responsibilities expanded the database to its current status. The files are available to retrieve literature before 1970, as well as afterward. It is a database from many sources at many times with problems that entails. It is hoped that all users will go to the original article if used for articles and presentations.
