GENERATING IDEAS
Turn whatever you're doing -or whatever you want to promote--into an article.
Shorten or adapt reports or speeches you've already written.
Make a list of 6,8, 10 ways to do something better.
Exchange ideas with colleagues.
Read something new everyday; keep an ideas file.
PRODUCTION AND PACKAGING
Get your ideas flowing

Talk into a tape recorder.
Have a ideas and stuff file in your computer[back it up]
Jot outline--index cards or Post-It notes
Free write 5 to 10 minutes each day

Don't get "blocked" before you get started; leave opening for last, if necessary.
Separate writing and editing; first write a rough draft.
Edit out unnecessary words, phrases, jargon.
Make the manuscript letter-perfect!
Read aloud as final check for clarity and phrasing.
Pay an expert to edit the piece --or consider collaborating.
