ABSTRACT: In high risk infants who are breast-fed, special formulas which do not cause sensitization are a useful alternative. New formulas are likely to be developed based on biochemical and immunologic modifications of their proteins. Both in vitro and in vivo tests for evaluation of such formulas are discussed.
