Put as much macaroni as is needed into boiling salted water and cook till soft, cut some salt pork into small pieces and put into a frying pan. Slice an onion into the frying pan and brown with the pork. Pour the water off the macaroni and pour macaroni into the frying pan. Add enough tomato paste to season well. Season with pepper.
