Technology Trend in the Food Industry to Top

This trend in the future is more than computerization impacting food product development and promotion. A big trend will likely be genetic engineering. This particularly may be used to develop foods and food products with particularly quality characteristics.

Increasingly, new technologies in production and processing are changing available products. Some of these selected new technologies are:

  • ingredient technology
  • engineered food
  • microencapsulation
  • air impingement baking
  • biotechnology
  • hydroponics
  • electronic commerce
  • All of these impact the foods that enter the market place.
