the typical yellow perch has a greenish-brown back withyellow and dark bars on the sides, while the under part is white. Good sized specimens reach a length of 14 inches but such large fish are not so desirable as to flavor. The fish is generally bony, with flesh of poor quality. It is in season all the year round.
