are black teas from the province of Madras, South India. These teas are used in many popular blends. They are somewhat stronger than the Travancores and vary in quality according to the district in which they are produced. Brews of teas from the Nilgiris district are somewhat "thin" (lacking in color and strength) but are still pungent and of fine color.
