Some of you may wonder why one cares. I had an Uncle in Kansas who ran a Grade A dairy farm. He said that the milk inspector would come by and look at cleanliness and test the milk with a lactometer. He NEVER did add water but some milk producers tried to add water to their milk as it mean more gallons and more money. The lactometer could identify this.
