is a plant of Europe, Asia, and America. In some parts of Sweden, yarrow is said to be employed as a substitute for hops in the preparation of beer, to which it is supposed to add an inoxicating effect.
Plant, of which one species, achillea patarnica, which grows in woods, is edible. Its tender young leaves are added to salads.
