Webber Comment:

I find it difficult to think of this as edible. I guess we eat mushrooms so there should be no reason why we don't eat this; however, we would toss the whole ear away when we found it on the corn in the Kansas farm fields. It was considered gross. Most of it would be buried for "manure".
