How do I determine my pan size?
  • Easiest is to check the bottom of the pan and see if the manufacturer has marked it for you.
  • If it is just a baking pan, such as cake pan, measure from the inside edges across the top.
  • To find the volume, measure from inside edge to inside edge of the length and width. Measure the depth and multiple the length times the width times the height. A messier way is to fill to the brim with water and pour the water carefully into a measuring cup until you have the total volume.
  • Saucepans and skillets should be measured from outside edges across the top.
  • Depth is always measured on an inside vertical from the bottom of the pan or dish to the top edge.
