This easy-to-make buttercream is perfect for cake icing and filling.
Quick Buttercream

| Whole milk | 500 ml | 1 | 1.5 |
| Granulated sugar | 500 g | 1 | 1.5 |
| Butter | 250 g | | 8.75 |
| Egg yolks, 4 | 80 ml | | 2.75 |
| Salt, to taste | | | |
| Vanilla extract to taste | | | |
| Shortening | 300 g | | 10.5 |
| Butter | 1.2 | 2 | 10.25 |
| Total | 2.83 kg | 6 | 3.25 |
| Method: | Boil the milk, sugar, butter, egg yolk, salt and vanilla for about 1 minute. Cool completely. Add the butter and shortening and beat to full volume. Use as desired. |
